At Sauleda, we are dedicated to innovation and sustainability. Recently, in Santa Maria d’Oló, our weaving plant, we have taken another important step towards reducing water consumption and caring for the environment through the implementation of a complete wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
This facility allows us to process water through homogenization stages, physical-chemical and biological treatment and a carbon filter, ensuring an efficient and ecological process. The system achieves effective filter cleaning with minimal water use, combining air and water during the washing process. Thanks to advanced filtration and chlorination technology, we recover 40,000 L of water per day, which is reused in the initial washes of our fabrics.
This not only ensures the quality of the recycled water, but also contributes to significant savings of almost 1,000,000 L per month. Thanks to studies carried out by an external environmental management company, we can affirm that the quality of the water from the river has improved significantly since the implementation of the project.
