Sauleda’s work is endorsed by the main certifications of textile quality and efficiency and safety in production processes.
At Sauleda we follow a strict supplier selection process to take care of the certification and accreditation of the quality of our products. We meet the highest standards in all types of applications: domestic, decorative and industrial. Since 1999 we have been ISO 9001 certified for quality management systems.
This certification is given by an internal ISO 9001 quality auditor, through one of the ISO quality certifying companies. This certifies that the comprehensive management of the control of industrial processes is carried out in accordance with European quality standards, and they comply with them with excellence.
Sauleda’s main certifications
The ISO 9001 standard is a global benchmark in QMS, with more than one million certificates worldwide. It provides the infrastructure, procedures, processes, and resources needed to help organizations monitor and improve their performance and drive them toward efficiency, customer service, and product excellence.
Oeko Tex® is an independent quality certification body. The Standard 100 certification is an independent and homogeneous testing and verification system worldwide for raw, intermediate and final textile products at all stages of manufacturing, as well as for the materials and accessories used.
It is one of the textile quality certifications that guarantee that Sauleda’s fabrics are made without any substance that is harmful to health, skin or the environment. UV STANDARD 801 is one of the most stringent shading textile testing and certification systems in the world. The testing process determines the UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) which specifies the UV protection factor of textiles.
Unlike other UV standards that only test textiles in a new, dry state, UV STANDARD 801 also tests sunscreen textiles under realistic wearing conditions. This is because, with daily use, UV protection is often drastically reduced by moisture, stretching, abrasion, and washing.
The letters “EC” appear on many products marketed in the enlarged single market of the European Economic Area (EEA). They mean that products sold in the EEA have been assessed to meet high safety, health and environmental protection requirements.

At Sauleda we have tested the durability of canvas and we want to share our experience. After many years, the checks and tests carried out in prestigious laboratories show that Sauleda tarpaulins have a longer life than the years offered by the warranty.
For your peace of mind, however, we offer you up to ten years of warranty in case of normal exposure to the sun and atmospheric agents.

Characteristics of Sauleda fabrics
When you buy a Sauleda fabric, you have to take into account all these properties, which you must consider for the correct maintenance of the fabric over time.
Stain
Maximum resistance to environmental contamination. The SAULEDA FABRIC PROTECTOR coating of our fabrics creates a barrier effect, reinforcing water repellency and delaying the adhesion of dirt. Important: Agents such as acid rain or bird droppings, as well as abrasive washing of the tarpaulin, can damage the coating of SAULEDA FABRIC PROTECTOR.
Anti-UVI
Unsurpassed colour fastness of the canvas to light and atmospheric agents. Sauleda tarpaulins offer 90% sun protection in most of their designs, offering high resistance to UV rays. Sauleda, in collaboration with Aitex and the Association of Tests for the Applied Protection of Ultraviolet (UV) Rays, has carried out a study that investigates the behaviour of its designs exposed to UV radiation in its original form, and after being subjected to various treatments of its most common use and ageing, all of them have successfully passed it.
Antibacterial
The fibre used in the manufacture of the yarn used in the weaving process of the product has an antibacterial treatment that is reinforced with the Sauleda Fabric Protector finish that is applied to the fabrics. It is important to always let the fabric dry completely before storing or rolling.
Climatic
The characteristics of a climatic fabric are those that allow the fabric to breathe, making it easier for humidity and wind not to penetrate them. A climatic fabric offers us two effects: reducing the sensation of heat by lowering the temperature if we are under the fabric in times of high sun and heat, and a feeling of thermal protection under the fabric when the environment is cooler
Double-sided
Fabric that combines two excellent materials, resulting in a reversible, two-sided technical fabric. Manufactured in our new facilities, always using the highest quality raw materials. Fabric that has a different vision either by finish or color on the front than on the back.
Dimensional stability
During the manufacturing process of the fabric, it receives a final treatment that guarantees excellent dimensional stability of the fabric, being subjected to extra stress to guarantee dimensional stability in its subsequent uses.
Easy maintenance
Tarpaulins that are easy to maintain: follow our five basic tips:Vacuum dirt regularly. If necessary, clean with neutral soap, sponge and water maximum at 30 ºC. Rinse with water. Always allow the tarpaulin to dry completely before rolling or folding. Do not use abrasive products. In winter, store the awning in a cover.
Fireproof
Reaction to fire classification according to M1 or M2 fabric. If it is under the action of fire, the fabric does not produce detachment of material by fusion, and it does not maintain the flame preventing the fire from spreading.
Waterproof
Tarpaulins with this waterproof feature do not allow water or air to pass through the fabric.
Dry Cleaning
Dry cleaning is NOT supported.
Maximum resistance
Maximum resistance of the canvas to rot and breakage. During the manufacturing process, the fabric receives a final treatment that guarantees excellent resistance to breakage, being subjected to extra stress to guarantee dimensional stability in its subsequent uses.
Phosphorescent
Phosphorescent tissue that absorbs energy from light and stores it, so that it can be emitted later in the form of light, which is emitted slowly during the hours after absorption.
Iron
Iron at moderate temperature.
Respectful production
The constant investments in the production lines implement the most modern technologies and incorporate the most recent safety measures to comply with a double social and environmental responsibility. We contribute to environmental safety by using respectful production processes and treating waste so as not to degrade our natural environment.
Quick-drying
The fibre used in the manufacture of the yarn used in the weaving process of the product favours a quick drying of the canvas.
Water repellent
The constant investments in the production lines implement the most modern technologies and incorporate the most recent safety measures to comply with a double social and environmental responsibility. We contribute to environmental safety by using respectful production processes and treating waste so as not to degrade our natural environment.
Dryer
DO NOT tumble dry.
Washing temperature
Wash at a maximum temperature of 30º using neutral soap.
Breathable
Air permeability and water repellency. The fibre used in the manufacture of the yarn used in the weaving process of the product favours the breathability of the fabric, preventing the formation of annoying damp stains. It is important to always let the fabric dry completely before storing or rolling.
Use of bleach and derivatives
Bleach is authorized for use in moderate amounts.
